The Eagles pinpointed (maybe the first) replacement for the team’s departed all-time leading rush leader LeSean McCoy, signing former Chargers running back Ryan Matthews to a three-year, $12 million contract.
Matthews, who is injury prone but a former first round pick (just like Sam Bradford), has two 1,000 yard seasons under his belt, including 1,255 yards and six touchdowns back in 2013.
He missed ten games in 2014 due to asprained MCL and ankle injury lost him his job to Braydon Oliver.
Somewhat surprisingly,it is being reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter that the Birds are still in hot pursuit of free agent running back DeMarco Murray.
Murray is fresh off leading the NFL in rushing yards and is being chased by the Cowboys (his former team), Raiders, Eagles and others.
