The Philadelphia Eagles are the last undefeated team in the NFL. The Jacksonville Jaguars looked to thwart that last Sunday, but were unable to stop the dominant rushing attack that the Birds brought to the table. Week 5 seems the Birds fly to Arizona to take on Kyler Murray and the Cardinals in what promises to be a very exciting contest.

The Cardinals put on a clinic against the Panthers in Week 4 and it was long overdue. They’re 2-2 and still having to push on without DeAndre Hopkins, who is serving a six-game suspension. A leaky defense hasn’t helped matters, with Arizona giving up the 4th most points of any team through the opening four games of the season.
What’s interesting is that they’ve only given up 348 rushing yards up to this point, but have been poor against the pass. If there is ever a game for Jalen Hurts to step up and really flex his growth as a passer, this is the week to do so. The Cardinals will struggle to smother both A.J Brown and DeVonta Smith, which should lead to plenty of opportunities for Hurts to strut his stuff, even if he is marginalized on the ground.
As for their quarterback, Kyler Murray is completing 65% of his passes and seems to be on track to replicate his 2021 numbers. However, his current passer rating of 85 is the lowest of his career. The Philadelphia secondary has been excellent this season and may well be able to take away Kyler’s top receiving threats, forcing him into some bad throws, and leaving him to deal with pressure from this week’s NFC Defensive player of the week, Hasson Reddick.
Then, there is the latest stop on the revenge tour. After reuniting with Doug Pederson, humiliating Carson Wentz, and beating Duce Staley, the Eagles now get to visit one of the best tight ends in team history, Zach Ertz. He’s having a modest season with the Cardinals and spoke glowingly of his time in Philadelphia in a Monday press conference. It’s clear Ertz still bleeds green and this game is bound to be an emotional one for him.
As for the Eagles, everything is rolling smoothly. The Jags were by far their toughest challenge yet, pushing Philadelphia to a 14-point deficit early on. They were without Jordan Mailata and several other key players, but rallied back to a victory on the shoulders of Jalen Hurts, Miles Sanders, and the same thumping rushing attack that led the league in rushing in 2021.
What’s perhaps most terrifying is that it doesn’t matter where the opponents strengths lie, the Eagles can still obliterate them. They have a rushing offense that’s good enough to hang with the best in the NFL, and a receiving group that’s easily the most explosive that the NFC has to offer. Sprinkle in a young, improving quarterback who has effortlessly gripped and inspired the locker room, and a tenacious defense, and you have a legitimate contender.
It explains why the Eagles are 5.5 favorites going into this matchup.

I really like the Eagles to win this game. Yes, Kyler Murray is an electric dual-threat QB who can exhaust defenses, but he doesn’t have the receiving talent (bye bye Christian Kirk and DeAndre Hopkins) to really make the most of the time he can buy on the run and make plays deep downfield. Instead, Ertz is commanding more targets than any receiver not named Hollywood, and will be facing a fierce and refreshed Eagles linebacking group.
I also think this could be a great spot for A.J Brown, who is facing a Cardinals secondary that not only lacks height, but is allowing 7.4 yards per pass. It may be worth betting on Brown to score a touchdown and the Eagles to win to maximize your return.
