East Germantown shooting leaves 1 dead, 1 injured

A gunman opened fire Tuesday night outside of an East Germantown store, killing one man and injuring another, authorities said.

Dashean Lee, 22, was shot in the head and back just before 10 p.m. on the 1200 block of E. Chelten Avenue, only a block from where he lived. The other victim, a 27-year-old man, sustained a gunshot wound to his ankle.

Riders on a nearby SEPTA bus witnessed the shooting and described Lee as collapsing in the doorway of the store following the gunfire, according to investigators.

Police described the shooter as a Black man who was wearing a black Nike hooded sweatshirt, black sweatpants and black Nike slides with red and white socks. He was last seen heading towards Anderson Street.

Elsewhere, authorities said a 19-year-old man is expected to survive after he was shot six times at around noon Wednesday inside a house on the 2000 block of N. 20th Street in North Philadelphia.

He was taken to Temple University Hospital with wounds to his legs and buttocks. No one was immediately apprehended, police said.

A 67-year-old woman told officers she was outside talking at around 9:45 p.m. Tuesday on the 2800 block of Boudinot Street in Kensington when she heard gunshots and was struck in her left wrist and leg.

Police took her to Temple University Hospital, where she was later listed in stable condition.

Investigators said a 23-year-old man was sleeping in the backseat of a car while a family member was driving at around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday when he was shot in the back. The driver took him to Nazareth Hospital in Northeast Philadelphia, and his injuries are not considered to be life-threatening.

Detectives have not yet determined exactly where the shooting occurred.

A 78-year-old woman was in critical condition Tuesday after being stabbed in the back at around 6:30 p.m. inside a house on the 2500 block of N. Howard Street in the Fairhill neighborhood, police said.

Officers recovered a weapon at the scene, and authorities said the victim knows the perpetrator, described as a 40-year-old woman.
