East Mount Airy shooting leaves one man dead, one in critical condition

A double shooting in East Mount Airy Friday night left one man dead and a second man fighting for his life.

Police said the men were both shot multiple times on the 200 block of East Sharpnack Street shortly after 8:30 p.m. One victim, 23, died a half hour later at Albert Einstein Medical Center, while the second, 26, is in extremely critical condition at the same hospital with gunshot wounds to his upper torso and leg.

The suspected shooters fled in a green Mercury minivan, according to investigators. The vehicle was found several blocks away on the 200 block of Rosemary Lane and one person was arrested. Police are still seeking a second suspect, a black man wearing a black shirt.
