Easton woman allegedly set house on fire because husband would not get off computer

An Easton woman allegedly set her family home on fire because her husband refused to get off of the computer and start cleaning the house, according to a report from WFMZ.com.

Police and firefighters were called to the house shortly before 11 p.m. Monday. There, they determined that Huma Khan, 26, had allegedly told her husband she was going to burn the house down during an argument over his computer habit, then returned with a lit rag.

When he still refused to unglue himself from the monitor, she allegedly threw the lit rag on the couch, police told the station. She then ran out of the house, leaving her husband, two children and a house guest inside. No one was injured and the home suffered only minor damage, the report said.

Khan first told officers the fire had started because she fell asleep while smoking, according to the station.

She is charged with arson, endangering the welfare of children and related offenses and is in Northampton County Prison on $75,000 bail.
