Meet Kimmell Proctor, the CEO of Beyond Literacy, Philadelphia’s largest adult education nonprofit. Kimmell has more than 25 years of experience in education and nonprofit services, and at Beyond Literacy, she serves over 1,500 underprivileged adults across three main campuses. As CEO, Kimmell manages the development and expansion of Beyond Literacy’s five core programs, which include GED preparation classes and ESOL classes, and is also responsible for maintaining and strengthening the partnerships that make this work possible. Ultimately, Kimmell strives to promote educational equity by providing essential cost-free resources to underserved adults.
