Holiday spectaculars and Broadway favorites are back as Ensemble Arts and The Philadelphia Orchestra announce the return of their Family Discovery Series. Now in its ninth year, the series welcomes incredible performances from ‘Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas!’ to ‘Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone’ in concert, presented by The Philadelphia Orchestra.
There will also be several family concerts, and the series can be seen across three different locations.
At Miller Theater, ‘Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical’ will take the stage from Nov. 26 to Dec. 1. Beginning Dec. 26, STOMP brings hard-hitting excitement until Dec. 29. On Feb. 8, 2025, the Gazillion Bubble Show is set to amaze families with an immersive musical experience featuring beautiful bubble artistry. And Riverdance 30 – The New Generation, will hit the stage April 18-20, 2025, at Miller Theater.
The newly dubbed Marian Anderson Hall will host six events by The Philadelphia Orchestra, including their Children’s Halloween Spectacular! on Oct. 5, where families are encouraged to grab their best Halloween costumes and enjoy a spine-chilling set featuring everything from Halloween classics to family-friendly favorites. Families can also enjoy an opportunity to enjoy an all-time family favorite, watching ‘Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone’, in concert on Nov. 29 and 30.
On Dec. 7, families can enjoy some of their favorite holiday songs and sing-a-longs, plus a special guest appearance all the way from the North Pole. Just in time for the holiday season, families can enjoy Disney’s The Muppet Christmas Carol in Concert as The Philadelphia Orchestra accompanies the beloved twist on a Charles Dickens classic that has become a classic itself.
Even more excitement is coming to Marian Anderson Hall in 2025, including Prokofiev’s famous tale, ‘Peter and the Wolf’, on Feb. 1 and ‘Carnival of Animals’ on March 15.
Finally, the Academy of Music will feature the Tony award-winning show ‘The Wiz’ from June 3 – 15, 2025. The innovative twist of The Wizard of Oz, which features an iconic score, has captivated audiences for nearly 50 years and continues to be introduced to the next generation of theater lovers.
