When Eric Lindros and John LeClair were inducted into the Philadelphia Flyers Hall of Fame last Thursday night before the game against the Wild, Eric Desjardins was a special guest.
In a couple of months, Desjardins will be the guest of honor.
The Flyers are inducting the former defenseman into the Hall on Feb. 19. And after a preview of what’s to come, the good-natured Desjardins felt his former teammates set a high bar.
“I have a lot of pressure on me now, (they) gave some really long speeches,” Desjardins said laughing. “No, it’s nice to be here and see those two guys inducted and how it’s going to be. It was pretty emotional for them. I can’t imagine how it’s going to be when it’s my turn.”
He loved the atmosphere in the building and was taken aback by the entire evening.
“I didn’t know it was that big of a ceremony,” Desjardins said. “Now, it makes me even more nervous.”
