A man escaped Monday morning from Jefferson University Hospital after he was arrested in Center City, police said.
Officers took Richard Renzo, also known as Richard White, into custody just after 3 a.m. on the 800 block of Market Street, according to authorities.
He was taken to the hospital to be treated for an injury that occurred prior to the arrest, police said, though no further details were provided. Representatives from Jefferson Health declined to comment.
Renzo is wanted for grand larceny, or theft, in New York, and he also has an open warrant in Philadelphia relating to probation violations, investigators said.
Anyone with information about Renzo is asked to contact the PPD’s Central Detective Unit at 215-686-3093; call or text 215-686-8477; or dial 911.
