Events to check out this weekend to celebrate Pride in Philadelphia

BOS Philly Presents Pride Night at Concourse Dance Bar

This weekend, Philadelphians can head to the unique multi-sensory concept Concourse Dance Club for an all-new experience timed with the reopening of Philadelphia bars and dance floors. The event kicks off this Friday, June 11, at 10 p.m. and goes to 2 a.m. and will feature DJ K!RK.

Concourse has become known for its Instagram-famous ball pit, and this massive underground nightclub in Center City is decked out with eclectic, retro flair. This event in particular is presented by BOS Philly with tickets coming out to $25 or save $5 when bought online in advance with promo code BOS2021.

Drive ‘N Drag Saves 2021 ft Drag Race Stars

All weekend long, Philadelphians will be able to enjoy the fiercest of all drive-ins featuring RuPaul’s Drag Race alumni. The event takes place at the King of Prussia Mall and features super queens Aquaria, Asia O’Hara, Kameron Michaels, Vanessa “Vanjie” Mateo, GottMik, Rosé and Violet Chatchki.

The release states that at the Drive N’ Drag Saves 2021 Drag Race Stars, the ladies will perform live on a huge stage in front of attendees’ cars for a show with extravagant lighting, fabulous attire and jumbotron LED screens. The sound will be broadcasted both from the stage and via an FM radio that you’ll be able to tune into once you arrive at the venue, plus there will be a concert-quality light show and gourmet food trucks with food available for purchase.

Drive ‘N Drag Saves 2021 will be touring all around the country going to cities like Seattle, Dallas and Miami, but the show at King of Prussia Mall will be there for one weekend only from Friday, June 11 through Sunday, June 13. Tickets are $75 and up for General Admission for a car with two people, with VIP options available as well.

Teen LGBTQIA Circus Workshop

This Saturday, June 12, from noon to 1:30 p.m., the Philadelphia School of Circus Arts will be celebrating Philly Gay Pride with a free circus workshop for LGBTQIA teens. In this 90 minute workshop, PSCA’s LGBTQIA staff and LGBTQIA staff allies will introduce Teens to the Circus Arts by teaching the basics of Aerial Sling, Static Trapeze, Tumbling, Juggling, and Tightwire.

The last half hour of this workshop however, will also feature a Cyr Wheel performance and a Q&A with recent graduate of Circadium School of Contemporary Circus, Alexandra Feit. This event is free but space is limited to 15 participants so registration is required. All skill levels and abilities are welcome.

Women’s Party: Sip City Mixer on the River

For this specific event, visitors can head to Cavanaugh’s River Deck to check out Sip City, which is always free to attend. Even with the free entry however, organizers ask that those who join consider a donation to the very worthy and needed The Arcila-Adams Trans Resource Center at the William Way LGBT Community Center. The event kicks off this Friday, June 11, from 6 to 9 p.m.
