It’s March, and with St. Patrick’s Day right around the corner, Evil Genius has decided to celebrate by debuting a new beer and block party this Saturday, March 9.
The Fishtown venue’s new brew, officially titled “Magically Delicious” incorporates Lucky Charms into its recipe. The 7.0% ABV green IPA is brewed with heaps of malted and flaked oats then dosed with boxes of the oat-based cereal, then balanced out by a big dry-hop of Mosaic.
“This is the fluffiest, most nostalgia-inducing iteration of this beer that we’ve made,” said co-founder Trevor Hayward in a statement. “Don’t wait around for this beer though because there are just a hundred crowlers available for purchase and then it’ll be gone.”
You don’t have to be an Evil Genius to attend the festivities
This hyper-limited-brew is available in 32-ounce crowlers, exclusively at their taproom location, The Lab, starting on Friday, March 8, for $13.25. Guests can also try it out this Saturday at the venue’s St. Paddy’s Day Block Party as well.
Beginning at noon on Saturday, March 9, Philadelphians can head to the Front Street locale to shop around with a series of vendors offering DIY charcuterie kits, handmade accessories, hand-crocheted goods, stained glass artwork, drinkware and more.
The block party (which goes until 6 p.m.) will also feature live entertainment from The Lenahan Band, a local rock trio, free face painting from IFacepaint215, and for food, Chank’s will be slinging fresh, hot pizza cones for the duration of the event. Evil Genius will even be manning a giant, inflatable Irish Pub for all your beer needs for the day.
Evil Genius’ St. Paddy’s Day Block Party will take place on Saturday, March 9, from noon to 6 p.m., at 1727 N. Front Street, in Fishtown. The event is free to attend for families and is pet friendly.
