Evil Genius Beer Company is hosting a pop-up book fair this Saturday, June 14, called Pints and Pages. The brewery’s taproom location in Fishtown is transforming into a one-day marketplace that will thrill bookworms and bibliophiles alike.

The event, which will take place from noon to 5 p.m., is free to attend and open to all ages and even pets. The fair will feature books, comics, VHS tapes, and more from local sellers while supplying plenty of craft beer directly from the brewing company to enjoy while perusing the many items available.

Like many of the clever beer names and other events hosted by Evil Genius, nostalgia is emphasized as a central theme, taking guests back to some of the best days of their scholastic years.

“Growing up, everyone agreed that one of the most exciting days of the school year was the book fair,” said Trevor Hayward, co-founder of Evil Genius. “We’re recreating that magic for adults while giving them a platform to shop some of our favorite neighborhood shops and makers. It’s the perfect blend of community, nostalgia, and a huge dose of fun.”

Pints and Pages will feature a selection of books by The Head and The Hand, a nonprofit independent publisher and community book seller and publisher based out of Fishtown. Additionally, Johnny Destructo’s Hero Complex, Tapes From The Crypt, The Scented Library and Sweet Nostalgia Scents will all feature products from comics and graphic novels, to VHS tapes and candles, and more.
