Fall is in full swing at Evil Genius with a slew of events happening at the Fishtown hotspot.
First up is the Halloween Book Fair, slated for Saturday, Sept. 27, from noon to 5 p.m. Local vendors will be slinging boo-tiful books and eerie editions, and the beer garden will be open.
Later on Sept. 27, from 8 to 11 p.m., Grateful Dead Tribute band Crickets and Cicadas will take the stage at Evil Genius. The show is free to attend, but you must be 21 or older.
Cheers to Oktoberfest
Evil Genius will host its Oktoberfest celebration on Saturday, Oct. 4, turning N. Front Street into a mini-Munich complete with traditional decor, games, and live polka. Each ticket ($20) includes a limited-edition Evil Genius stein. Designated Driver tickets are available for $10, and the event is strictly 21 and over.
The brewery will pour four German-inspired beers brewed just for the occasion including: I Love Lamp (Pineapple Hefeweizen), What Are You Wearing, Jake From State Farm? (Schwarzbier), Is Butter A Carb? (Pretzel Oktoberfest), and It’s Britney, Bitch! (Hoppy Kolsch).
Traditional German inspired eats will be available including Obatzda (traditional cheese spread with warm bavarian pretzel rods and jalapeno cooper sauce), Bratwurst with beer infused sauerkraut, german potato salad, and German chocolate cake.
Entertainment includes performances by Polkadelphia, a local polka group, alongside a DJ mixing modern tracks with Oktoberfest flair. Guests can also take part in the official United States Stein Holding Association Qualifying Competition where the winner will advance to state-level finals and take home an Evil Genius gift card.

Spooky season
The Fall festivities continue on Saturday, Oct. 11, with Evil Genius’ Dog Costume Contest. From 7 to 9 p.m., bring your furry four-legged friends dressed in costume for a chance to win prizes. This annual event is a $10 donation and comes with one starter drink, with proceeds helping Palmer Doggie Depot.
And finally, A Brunch Of Hocus Pocus — a Halloween inspired drag brunch with an emphasis on Hocus Pocus — is slated for Sunday, Oct. 12, (11 a.m., noon and 2 p.m.) This 21+ event will feature an exclusive lineup of drag performers, including the Sanderson Sisters and more, for a brunch of nostalgic halloween goodness.
