Two men associated with the Temple University Police Department were charged with the murder of a 24-year-old woman.

Former officer Aaron Wright, 47, and current officer Marquis Robinson, 41, are charged with murder, aggravated assault, conspiracy and abuse of a corpse in connection to the woman’s death,court records show.

The woman, whose name has not been released, was identified as Wright’s girlfriend.

Police were called to the 4600 block of Greene Street around 10:40 a.m. for reports of gunshots, where responding officers found the victim’s badly beaten body inside her Germantownrowhome, reports said. Despite early reports, the victim was not shot.

Police are not releasing how the woman died, but according to the Inquirer, authorities are calling the killing a domestic case.

A 47-year-old man was arrested at the scene, who was later identified as Wright, the woman’s boyfriend. Both Wright and Robinson were charged Saturday.

Robinson was a 10-year veteranof the department until Sunday, when he was terminated, Temple University spokesman RayBetznersaid Monday.

Wright resigned from the force in 2012,Betznersaid.

Wright and Robinson are currently being held atCurran-FromholdCorrectional Facility in Northeast Philly. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Aug. 17.
