A hit-and-run driver killed a 42-year-old female pedestrian Sunday night in Fairhill, police said.

The crash happened at around 7:30 p.m., when the driver of a Hyundai Sonata struck the woman as they were turning left onto Indiana Avenue from 5th Street, according to investigators.

Police have not publicly identified the victim. She died a short time after the collision at Temple University Hospital.

Authorities said the occupants of the Hyundai abandoned the vehicle and ran from the area. No one has been apprehended, according to the PPD. Anyone with information is asked to call or text the department’s tip line at 215-686-TIPS (8477).

Less than 40 hours earlier, at around 4:20 a.m. Saturday, a man drove into three nurses outside Penn Presbyterian Medical Center after dropping off a 28-year-old man who had been shot. One of the nurses, a 36-year-old man, was in critical condition following the crash, police said.

Investigators later found a Jeep – believed to be the suspect’s vehicle – in Upper Darby; however, no arrests have been reported.
