Fairhill Man Becomes First Homicide Victim in a Week

A man who was shot on Tuesday died of his injuries yesterday, making him the first homicide victim in a week.

Benjamin Espinosa, 28, was shot multiple times in the torso, back and extremities shortly after 6:15 p.m. at North Waterloo and West Cambria streets in Fairhill.

The resident of the 1600 block of North 4th Street died at Temple Hospital yesterday at 2:30 a.m.

Police have not yet established a motive or made any arrests.

Before Espinosa’s death, there hadn’t been a homicide in the city since the Sept 13 slaying of a 50-year-old man inside his North Philadelphia home.
