Both Fall and the Eagles’ season are fastly approaching, and the 2024 Deptford Mall Family Football Fest is looking to gather some city spirit and bring together sports personalities, all for a good cause.
Taking place this Saturday, Aug. 31, activities will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. in the Deptford Mall parking lot near Almonesson Road and Macy’s. As a release notes, Family Football Fest is a celebration for the whole family, with activities designed to engage and entertain all ages, and admission is free. Sponsored by Nemours Children’s Health and Xfinity, the event will help support the Deptford Township L.E.A.D. (Law Enforcement Against Drugs) Program.
“We are beyond excited to host our annual Family Football Fest for the local community. This event is about more than just football; it’s about bringing the community together for a day of fun, family, and support for a fantastic cause,” said Lori L. Belsito, Senior Marketing Manager, in a statement.
“Thanks to our incredible sponsors and partners, especially Nemours Children’s Health and Xfinity, we’re able to make this a truly special event. And of course, having the Philadelphia Eagles join us through Overtime Promotions is the cherry on top. We can’t wait to see everyone there.”
Perhaps the main pull of the event is the special guests—Philadelphia Eagles players will be onsite and families (with tickets) will have the chance to snap pictures and get autographs from Brandon Graham, Quinyon Mitchell, and Jeremiah Trotter Jr. The players will be on site from 2 to 4 p.m., and tickets can be purchased online from Overtime Promotions.
On top of the special guests, Family Football Fest will also feature a Beer Garden from Bonesaw Brewing, live entertainment and performers strolling around throughout the day, live fitness and dance activations, plus plenty of food vendors including Kona Ice, Chick-fil-A, Bubble Bear Tea, Mission BBQ and more.
Those who don’t make it to the official photo op can snap a pic with an Eagles Selfie Station, plus kids can check out face painting, balloon sculpting, magic shows, caricature artists, bounce houses, live animal encounters, an assortment of games and much more.
Mall retailers and other local businesses will also be on site for a Vendor Village section including Rally House, Verizon, Macy’s, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Pro Image, Balloon Celebrations, ServPro, TD Bank, Fulton Bank, and more .
Guests can visit the Prize Station and make a $10 or more donation to the Deptford Township L.E.A.D. Program to enter for a chance to win different prizes. Winnings include a 65” LG ThinQ AI TV, Eagles merchandise, gift cards and more. With their donation they will receive a special Philadelphia Football 2024 Game Schedule magnet; with a $20 donation, guests will also receive a Deptford Mall lunch tote, while supplies last, the release notes.
And finally, Deptford Mall will also host a Sports Card & Collectible Show, presented by Overtime Promotions. Taking place from Friday, Aug. 30, to Monday, Sept. 2, in Center Court during mall hours, this four-day event offers “a captivating array of sports memorabilia, collectibles, sports cards, apparel, and more. With diverse vendors on hand, collectors and fans alike will find treasures to add to their collections and showcase their team spirit.”
