Farewell Day Day: Minaj’s slain tour manager De’Von Pickett laid to rest

Heartbroken friends and relatives over the weekend paid their final respects to De’Von Pickett, the slain tour road manager for hip hop star Nicki Minaj.

Funeral services were held Saturday morning at the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Brooklyn. The day before, mourners packed the Grace Tabernacle Christian Center, also in Brooklyn for the viewing.

Pickett, 29, whose nickname was “Day Day,” was fatally stabbed outside the Che Bar and Grill on 6364 Stenton Ave. in Philadelphia, on Feb. 18. He lived in the Bronx.

One man is in custody in connection with the attack. Pierce Boykin, 31, of 1300 East Sedgwick Ave. in Philly, has been charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, and other related offenses. He was not the stabber, police sources said.

The victims were in Philadelphia preparing for the singer’s upcoming tour with her boyfriend, fellow hip hop artist Meek Mill, also a Philly native.
