Father and son busted for child porn in Glenside

The Montgomery County DA’s office announced Thursday that a father and son who were residing in the same house were both charged with possession of child pornography.

Harry Ennis, 68, and son Patrick Ennis, 29, of Glenside, Pa., were arrested after AOL alerted police that child pornography had been uploaded from an IP address traced to their home.

Police executing a search warrant at the family’s Edge Hill Road home on May 27 were met by Patrick Ennis. According to police, he immediately admitted his involvement in uploading 27 images of child pornography through his AOL account.

Upstairs, police recovered computer equipment, including two USB drives which were found to contain more than 600 images of child pornography, according to police.

Harry Ennis identified the USB drives as belonging to him, and also said his computer was password-protected, but invoked his Fifth Amendment rights and did not answer questions about the content found on the drives. When asked if he ever viewed child pornography online he replied, “Not purposely,” according to a police report.

Patrick Ennis was charged with possession and dissemination of child pornography, but made 10 percent of his $25,000 bail to be released. Harry Ennis was hit with 100 charges of child pornography possession, bail was set at $75,000 which he did not post and was remanded to the Montgomery County Correctional Center.

Both father and son are due back in court Aug. 24 for a joint preliminary hearing.
