Father killed, wife critical following Strawberry Mansion home invasion

A father is a dead and a mother is in critical condition after an early morning home invasion in Strawberry Mansion, police said.

Authorities responded to the 3200 block of Cecil B. Moore around 3:30 this morning. They say a 35-year-old man was shot to death, while his wife, a 39-year-old woman, was critically wounded. Their children, ages 10 and possibly 15, were home at the time, but unharmed, police said.

Police do not have any suspects or motive at this time. They say there were no signs or forced entry, so they believe the victims may have known their attackers, reports said. Police are not aware of the couple’s involvement in any illegal activity. Neighbors have described them as good people and loving parents.

Police have not yet released their identities.
