FBI agents are looking into a recent string of armored car robberies in and around Philadelphia.

The federal law enforcement service announced Tuesday that it is offering a $10,000 reward for tips leading to the arrest and conviction of suspects responsible for four such robberies and one attempt between June 26 and Aug. 12 in Philadelphia and Cheltenham.

Authorities believe two to three men were involved, and the FBI distributed a poster and nine surveillance images of the suspects.

In each incident, the suspects wielded AR-style rifles, in addition to handguns, and they disarmed the truck driver, taking their company-issued gun. The gunmen have been wearing gloves and face coverings during the robberies, officials said.

The FBI described the suspects as Black men in their 20s with thin to medium builds. One of the men has a light complexion, hazel eyes and freckles, investigators added. The group has been spotted fleeing the scene in five separate stolen cars, each of which had tinted windows, according to authorities.

Anyone with information is asked to call the bureau’s Philadelphia field office at 215-418-4000 or go to tips.fbi.gov.

While federal agents did not detail each incident, Philadelphia has experienced a spate of armored truck heists in recent weeks.

Shots were reportedly exchanged July 15 when gunmen attempted to rob a Brinks driver who was making a delivery on Castor Avenue in Rhawnhurst. The Philadelphia Police Department also documented armored car robberies July 2 in Holmesburg and June 26 in Crescentville.

It was not clear whether any of those cases are part of the FBI’s probe.

Federal prosecutors charged three men earlier this month for allegedly stealing more than $2 million during the June 21 robbery of a Brinks truck outside a Port Richmond Home Depot. One of the suspects had been a Brinks employee, officials said.
