Federal Officer Accidently Shoots Self During Firearms Training

A federal officer accidentally shot himself during weapons training at the Police Academy firing range in Northeast Philadelphia this afternoon.

The U.S. Mint officer shot himself in the knee around 2:30 p.m. while training at the facility on the 8500 block of State Road.

He was taken to Aria-Torresdale Hospital, where he is in stable condition.
