Find the perfect gift at the Made in Philadelphia Holiday Market

The holidays are almost here, and that leaves a small window to get everything accomplished on your gift to-do list — and luckily, Philly has a hub of local makers to do just that.

The Made in Philadelphia Holiday Market makes shopping for even the pickiest of gift-receivers that much easier — and the gorgeous setting of the venue definitely doesn’t hurt either.

“Made in Philadelphia Holiday Market is back again to showcase the amazing talent of our local vendors from the city, region and tri-state area – from Philadelphia to the suburbs to the Jersey Shore,” said market organizer Thomas Bauer in a statement. “Together with Christmas Village it is the largest open-air market of its kind in Philadelphia with a special focus on supporting, fostering and showcasing all the amazing and diverse makers and artists in and around the region.”

“While Christmas Village in Philadelphia at Love Park is a collection of vendors from Philly to around the world, our market on Dilworth Park is the perfect compliment with a focus on supporting local talent and shopping small businesses,” he continued. “Come out this year and find some of your favorites who are with us each year, but don’t miss the new additions. New or returning, we are thrilled to showcase the best of the best!”

Philadelphians can head to Dilworth Plaza now through New Year’s Day to indulge in everything this locally-focused holiday market has to offer, and this year is truly a treat incorporating more vendors and activities than ever before. As a release states, dozens of artisans, designers and small businesses from the greater Philadelphia region will offer decorations, fashion and gifts inside white, festively lit tents. Visitors will have the unique chance to shop gifts and products that can’t be found at a usual shopping mall — including artwork, home goods, ornaments, sweets, toys, apparel, jewelry, decorations and more.

Shopping for everyone on your list isn’t the only draw for the locally-focused shopping venue, however.

The market will be surrounded by other attractions at Dilworth like the Rothman Orthopaedics Ice Rink (which will remain open daily through Feb. 27) and the Wintergarden, which are joined by Christmas Village vendors in the City Hall Courtyard and North Apron. The open-air pop-up market is curated by organizers of Christmas Village in Philadelphia, which will also be set up across the street in LOVE Park for its 14th season. Admission to the market is free.

For your gift needs, however, there’s a little bit of something for everyone: From artisan canvas paintings at Eric Ajama Art & Gifts; to skin therapy products from Cirese C. Skin Therapy; art and illustrations from James Boyle Illustration; kids apparel from Buddha Babe; ceramic tree ornaments from Peaceramics & Beach Girl Jewelry; sea salt and salted goods from Salty Acres and much more. A full list of vendors, all local, are available online.

In total, guests can peruse and find one-of-a-kind products ranging from handcrafted jewelry, artwork, home décor, clothing, local Victory Brewing Company Hop Hazer and much more from the recognizably bright white tents with shining stars at the top that sit right in front of City Hall. Plus, a light show.

While at the market, shoppers can check out Dilworth Park’s Deck the Hall Light Show which has returned to illuminate the west façade of Philadelphia’s historic City Hall. As a release states, the colorful projections will run on a non-stop loop, helping to highlight and animate the building’s unique architecture. Produced with support from the Center City District and 6ABC, the display was created by Philadelphia-based art and design studio Klip Collective.
