A fire in in Old City scorched the roof of a five-story building in Old City Monday afternoon, sending plumes of smokes into the air that were visible throughout Center City.
No injuries were reported in the fire, which broke out at approximately 1:30 p.m. on Third Street, just north or Market, but fire crews were visibly struggling under heat that topped 90 degrees.
Traffic was closed on portions of Market Street and 3rd Street for much of the afternoon.
