Five Below employee stabbed while chasing suspected shoplifters

A brutal stabbing left a store employee seriously injured Friday after she chased after some suspected shoplifters from a Five Below location on Chestnut Street, Philadelphia Police said.

When the woman caught up with the two suspects, the victim told investigatorsthey pulled out knives and stabbed her in the neck and back.

The two suspects then ran away, and were last seen north on 16th Street, then east on Ranstead Street.

The victim was transported to Jefferson Hospital. Her status was not immediately available.

Police described the two women as:

  • Black,about 18 years old, five feet, two inches tall and weighing 180 pounds, with her hair in a bun and wearing glasses.
  • Black, about 18 years old, five feet, six inches tall and weighing 140 pounds, with long black hair and wearing dark clothing.

Do not approach the suspects. If you see them, call 911 immediately.
