The Philadelphia Flyers continue their four-game road trip with a matchup against the Arizona Coyotes this evening. The last time both teams faced each other was on December 11th, 2021, with the Flyers winning, 5-3.
Tonight’s game against the Flyers is only the sixth home game for the Coyotes this season. At Mullet Arena, the Coyotes are sharing the ice with Arizona State University. The Coyotes are 2-2-1 at home thus far. On Friday, the Coyotes defeated the Boston Bruins, 4-3. Despite being outshot 46-16, the Coyotes snapped a 19-game losing streak against the Bruins.
Lawson Crouse led the way with three points (2G, 1A) on Friday. Crouse ended a four-game point drought with a stellar performance, which included the game-winning goal in the third period.
Clayton Keller is the leader in points for the desert dogs with 23 (7G, 16A). On the 1LW spot, Keller has two goals and six assists in eight career games against the Flyers.
Shayne Gostisbehere will be paired with Jakob Chychrun on the top defensive unit. Since being traded to the Coyotes from the Flyers in 2021, Gostisbehere has 71 points (20G, 51A) in 107 games played. On a struggling Coyotes team, Gostisbehere and Chychrun elevate the team on the blue line.
Tentative Coyotes lineup, per the last game:
Keller-Boyd-Schmaltz
Crouse-Bjugstad-Maccelli
O’Brien-McBain-Fischer
Ritchie-Hayton-Valimaki
Chychrun-Gostisbehere
Moser-Brown
Nemeth-Stecher

Falling to the Vegas Golden Knights in overtime on Friday, the Flyers have only won two out of their last 16 games. Despite a lack of goal-scoring, the Flyers have improved their play on the ice against some of the NHL’s top teams.
Scott Laughton netted a goal in the loss to the Golden Knights after forcing a turnover. Laughton has 10 points (4G, 6A) in 24 games this year. Not a presence on the stat sheet each night, Laughton has been providing leadership and grit in the lineup.
Cam York made his season debut on Friday. York played an overall fine game after stepping in for Tony DeAngelo who was a healthy scratch. York had three shots on goal and generated passes from the defensive zone.
Rasmus Ristolainen has improved during his 21 games this year. Yet to score a point, Ristolainen’s defensive positioning and awareness have improved under John Tortorella. He currently has 58 hits and 49 blocked shots this season.
Tentative Flyers lineup, per the last game:
Hayes-Cates-Konecny
Farabee-Laughton-Tippett
van Riemsdyk-Frost-MacEwen
Deslauriers-Brown-Sedlak
Provorov-Ristolainen
Sanheim-Braun
York-Seeler
Hart
