Flyers Sign Noah Cates to ELC

The Flyers announced today that they have signed Noah Cates to a 2yr/$2.275mil entry-level contract. Cates was drafted in the 5th round (137th overall) in the 2017 draft by the Flyers. His entry-level contract will begin this season.

Cates, 23, played at Minnesota-Duluth for four years, was a part of Team USA during the 2019 World Junior Championship, and the Olympic Team at the 2022 Winter Olympics. He was an assistant captain for the USA during the Olympics.

Physically, Cates is ready for the NHL. He’s a 6’2″, 190lbs left winger who brings both size and skill to the ice. He scored 24 points this year (11G, 13A) in 37 games.

Cates is the first collegiate player in the system to be signed this year. His brother, Jackson, plays for the Lehigh Valley Phantoms.

The Flyers have always been high on Cates and it was expected that they were going to sign him after his collegiate season ended.

Cates could join the Flyers in Minnesota for their game against the Wild on Tuesday.
