Flyers still not taking anything for granted

The Flyers could be booking flights for Chicago. They could be stocking their fridges with expensive champagne. But they won’t be doing any of that until that series-clinching victory is in the books.

While the Flyers hold a 3-1 stranglehold over the Canadiens in the Eastern Conference finals, they know one bad bounce can quickly turn the tide. Montreal was down 3-1 to Washington before rallying all the way back in the first round. They also erased a 3-2 series deficit in the last round against Pittsburgh. Of course, the Flyers know what it’s like to be on the other side. They trailed Boston 3-0 before winning four straight.

“The fourth one is the toughest one to win. We’re a perfect example,” said Simon Gagne. “You could ask Boston, they’ll tell you that for sure.”

Jeff Carter and Ian Laperriere are expected to play in Game 5.
