Four unusual Valentine’s Day dates in Philadelphia

Moonshine & Valentine: Tavern Tour of Blood, Sex and Magick

Forget roses and hearts. This Grim Philly tour takes a look at the dark side of love and sex, kicking off at Zento (132 Chestnut St.) and stopping at other Old City bars. Along the way, you’ll learn about Voodoo love potions, Aztec aphrodisiacs, Roman sacrifices and more, as you sip cocktails, eat chocolate and learn what the future holds — romantically or otherwise — with tarot card and palm readings.

$49.99, 5:30 p.m., www.grimphilly.com

The Skivvies

Comedy music duo the Skivvies aren’t trying to fool you with their name — they actually play in their underwear. It’s called “undie rock,” of course. In addition to stripping down and entertaining with deliciously inappropriate original lyrics and a choice repertoire of campy cover tunes, Lauren Molina and Nick Cearley will bring special guests onto the stage, including Broadway actor Adam Kantor. For $50, start the night with cocktails and snacks at Volver before heading to the show. They also play Thursday and Friday.

$29, 8 p.m. SEI Innovation Studio at the Kimmel Center, 300 S. Broad St., www.kimmelcenter.org

The Ex-Files

Your friends are sick of hearing about it, so here’s your chance to rant about your evil ex to a rapt crowd. First Person Arts is hosting its annual anti-Valentine’s Day StorySlam. Contestants from the audiences get a chance to tell their true tales of heartbreak, for a chance to win $100 and a spot in this year’s Grand Slam competition.

$18, 8 p.m., Underground Arts, 1200 Callowhill St., exfiles.firstpersonarts.org

Love at the Barnes

Class it up at the Barnes, where contemporary dance company Koresh will be performing love duets while you sip free champagne and eat chocolates. After the show, live music will be playing will you stroll through the galleries – which, if you haven’t been yet, are jam-packed with masterpieces.

$35 ($28 for members), 6 to 9 p.m., The Barnes Foundation, 2025 Ben Franklin Pkwy., www.barnesfoundation.org
