Front door of Tioga house set on fire

Police are investigating an attempted firebombing in Tioga early this morning.

A man, 43, smelled something burning in the bottom floor of his residence on the 3300 block of North 18th Street, police said. When he tried to open the front door, he noticed it was on fire.

The man told police he received threatening text messages before the incident. The Fire Marshal’s office determined the fire to be a case of arson.

Authorities are still investigating.
