The Pennsylvania Chocolate & Coffee Festival is this weekend

This weekend, coffee and chocolate lovers can indulge in everything this two-day event has to offer. On Sept. 28 (9 a.m. to 5 p.m.) and Sept. 29 (10 a.m. to 4 p.m.), the sweet and smooth activation will be housed at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center and boast over 100 small businesses.
Vendors span chocolate makers, coffee roasters, gourmet food vendors, and other specialty artisans all offering up samples and expertise of their spin on chocolate and/or coffee. Familiar faces setting up shop include Ashers Chocolate, Bluebird Distilling, Char & Stave, Lets Go Coffee Company, That Day Company, White Horse Coffee and many more.
General Admission is $14.99 (kids are $4) and includes single day access to the event. For those who want to attend the festival both days, VIP tickets are also available for $30 and include full weekend access, a special VIP shopping hour Saturday from 9 to 10 a.m. and free items from select vendors.

Back for another spooky season in Philadelphia, Founding Footsteps is once again launching its successful “Philadelphia True Crime Tour”—which features live music and storytelling performances on their signature haunted BYOB trolley. As a release states, topics covered range from our nation’s first serial killer, H.H. Holmes, whose misdeeds began and ended in Philly, to the nation’s first bank robbery which took place right in Old City.
Less dark topics include the debate over the city’s famed Barnes Foundation and more. The tour runs every Thursday, Friday and Saturday evening from Sept. 26 to Oct. 26. Each night holds two options (7 or 9 p.m.), and tickets are $55. The tour starts and ends at 901 N. Delaware Ave.
The Philadelphia Unnamed Film Festival will continue into the weekend with a series of different events and activations. Now in its 9th year, the “DIY Film Festival” of South Philly has slated its largest showcase yet for 2024, and locals are invited to experience it all.
As a release notes, a fan favorite, PUFF’s signature oddball programming will kick off on Thursday, Sept. 26 with two experimental features. Friday, Sept. 27 will continue with showings, and Saturday, Sept. 28 is the largest day for PUFF, with non-stop showings of different shorts. Sunday, Sept. 29 finishes it all off with a free brunch for badge-holders (or those who purchase a Sunday ticket), the Local Shorts block, a block of modern music videos edited together with retro commercials and ads, and the Puff Awards where the coveted Puff Tiaras will be awarded for the best films seen all week.
Tickets and badges for PUFF9 are available for purchase online at the official eventive page and will be available at the door at Theatre Exile (where the Festival’s events and screenings will take place). Tickets for individual films and short blocks are on sale for $15. All-access badges are on sale for $125, and a Saturday-only badge is also available for $75.

Families looking to check out some museum exhibits in Philly this fall can head to the Please Touch Museum for a showcase tackling feelings. Titled ‘XOXO: An Exhibit About Love & Forgiveness’, this activation will open Sept. 27 at the venue and run until next year (Jan. 12.) While here, visitors can share, listen, connect, ask, and learn about feelings and emotions through facial expressions, words, movement, art making and other hands-on activities.
“Children are growing up in a time that may feel confusing and complicated,” said Patricia D. Wellenbach, President & CEO of the Please Touch Museum in a statement. “An exhibit like XOXO creates an opportunity for children and their grownups to discover the power of love and forgiveness, and how it can strengthen connections with friends, family, and in our community. We welcome families of all ages to visit the Museum to share messages of hope, love, empathy, and forgiveness, and learn how it can impact the world around them.”

Beer lovers can head to the 23rd Street Armory this Saturday to check out everything the annual Philly Beer Fest has to offer. There will be two curated sessions on Sept. 28 (1 to 4 p.m. or 6 to 9 p.m.) with VIP tickets available if you want to score an extra early hour. The event will also feature live music and food trucks, and tickets (found online) range from $35 to $49.
