Stina Monthly Guest Chef Charity Dinners

Every month, South Philly’s own restaurant with a social mission will be hosting annual collaboration dinners with the region’s up-and-coming chefs. For the month of September, Chef Phila Lorn currently of Terrain, Glen Mills will be kicking it off this Thursday (Sept. 30) with a menu that will help raise funds for the Cambodian American Girls Empowering (CAGE).

For this weekend’s collab, Stina’s Chef Bobby Saritsoglou and Lorn have designed a special menu that is eight courses for $65 per person, dinner service begins at 4 p.m. The menu includes: Crispy Taro Spring Rolls, West Coast Oysters (served with Kampot black peppercorn, lime and salt), Bang Chow Crepe Salad (boasting stewed chicken and assorted herbs), Ya Hawn (khmer red curry hot-pot with raw beef, seafood and greens with somen noodles), a countryside banana dessert and much more.

For beer pairings, Stina has once again partnered with Stickman Brews to pour American twists on Belgian inspired beers, IPA’s and all things in between. They will be pairing four beers over the course of the meal, with a new beer every other course. The cost is $10 per pairing, or $5 a la carte.

Chefs Lorn, Lachman, Ansill and Saritsoglou are all part of Stina’s series.Provided

Franklin Fright

Recently, The Franklin Institute announced new seasonal attractions and the first debuts this Friday, Oct. 1. The FI enlisted the artistic minds of BMorrow Productions to imagine full-scale seasonal experiences that will be offered this fall and winter, free with museum admission.

During Franklin Fright, which kicks off this weekend, guests will be surrounded by pumpkins, goblins, and more festive décor, as well as three new Halloween-infused live science shows premiering this month, featuring costumed performers demonstrating some very spooky science. As the release states, the ultra-popular indoor trick-or-treating adventure is also expanding this year, inviting guests to knock on ornately decorated exhibit doors every weekend in October during Franklin Fright
