Looking for some fun and unique things to do in Philly this weekend? We’ve got you covered.
Boozy Tea at Aqimero
On specific dates, Aqimero offers a special Boozy Tea Experience to coincide with a four-course tasting menu from Chef Richard Sandoval. Options for tea cocktails include a Chamomile Coconut Cooler with chamomile-infused rum, coconut water, lime and agave; the Hibiscus Paloma Punch with hibiscus-infused mezcal, grapefruit and agave; and the Jalisco Jasmine Margarita with jasmine tea-infused tequila, lime and edible flowers.
The drinks will be paired with fresh bites, like tuna ceviche with a lychee citrus broth, guacamole with grilled peaches and Baja Coast empanadas with ají shrimp. Visitors can then finish everything off on a sweet note with house-made churros, macarons, truffles and sorbet. The Boozy Tea Experience costs $125-plus per guest and is available on select dates throughout the summer from noon to 2 p.m. Upcoming dates include Aug. 24 and 25.

Philadelphia Bookstore Crawl
Readers, storytellers and those looking to expand their hobbies are in luck — the Philadelphia Bookstore Crawl is back this weekend. Two dozen Philly spots participated last year, and in 2024, the list has grown to now include over thirty bookstores. The all-day event will take place this Saturday, Aug. 24, with stops anchored from Old City to Germantown, Fishtown through West Philadelphia, Elkins Park to Ardmore, and as far as Wayne, PA and Haddonfield, NJ.
Each venue participating in the Philadelphia Bookstore Crawl will host their own special events, sales and giveaways with some authors posting up to chat about their work and the business (and you can expect to see everyone from critically acclaimed comic book authors to USA Today bestselling romance writers).
Participating stores span A Novel Idea, Brave New World, Headhouse Books, Iffy Books, Umoja House, Healing While Black, Wooden Shoe Books, Children’s World Books, American Grammar, The Last Word and many more.
Ukranian Folk Festival
The Ukrainian Folk Festival will be in full swing this weekend on Sunday Aug. 25 with a full showcase of cultural music, art, food and dance from noon to 8 p.m. Performers include the Vox Ethnika Orchestra, popstar singer-songwriter Iryna Lonchyna, violinist Innesa Tymochko Dekajlo and more. Food and refreshments will span authentic Ukrainian cuisine and BBQ favorites (think burgers, hot dogs and other classic treats), plus vendors will also be selling different arts and crafts onsite as well.
The event will take place at the Ukrainian American Sport Center and $2 of each ticket will be donated to humanitarian relief of war victims in Ukraine. Prices come out to be $15. Children 14 and under are free.

Spend Time in Philly Parks
There are plenty of events happening in local parks throughout August to celebrate the end of summer in Philly. Yoga in the Park, for one, is a fan-favorite activity that happens every Sunday until Aug. 25 from 10 to 11 a.m. in the expansive green space of East Fairmount Park at Lemon Hill Mansion, led by a rotation of local Tula Yoga instructors ($15).
Philadelphians can also opt to get their hands a little dirty with community Volunteer Days through weeding, invasive plant removal, trash pick-up, trail maintenance, and more at Carousel House Farm every Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m.
Bailar en FDR is another unique way to spend time in Philly Parks, and these Salsa dance classes take place at the historic FDR Park Boathouse. The all-levels dance lesson happens from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m., followed by a social dance from 8:30 to 11:30 p.m., all of which are hosted by DJ Val Flores and Philly Outdoor Bachata & Salsa (free, Aug. 23). A full list of summer-time activities in Philly parks can be found online.
