Levain Bakery might be a staple in NYC, but its moving some of its sweet goodness to the City of Brotherly Love starting this weekend. The new Philly location will officially kick off operations this Friday, Oct. 11, at 8 a.m. After a ribbon cutting, Philly-branded totes with free bakery swag will be given to the first 100 guests, and celebrations will run throughout this weekend (some of which will benefit local nonprofit Broad Street Love.)
Levain Rittenhouse will offer some of their fan favorite classic flavors—like chocolate chip walnut (also available as gluten-free/vegan), dark chocolate chocolate chip and oatmeal raisin, plus, some new additions like caramel coconut chocolate chip and the seasonal fall chocolate chunk (with flavors of ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, and molasses.) The Rittenhouse bakery also offers coffee, an assortment of breads, loaf cakes, pastries, brioche, and weekend-only sticky buns — all baked in-house daily.

The National Coming Out Parade and Festival/Resource Fair will be back with a fresh schedule of events and activations. OURfest will open with the annual parade, which happens to be the first National Coming Out Parade in the United States. The promenade-esque event is dedicated and inspired by the prideful holiday and will take place on Saturday, Oct. 12, from 4 to 6 p.m.
The following day on Sunday, Oct.13, in honor of National Coming Out Day/Weekend, the OURfest: National Coming Out Festival will be in full swing from noon to 7 p.m. The festival’s footprint will take over the Gayborhood from 13th and Walnut down to 13th and Pine, Locust to 12th, and to 12th and Pine. Other select roads will also be closed around the area.
The occasion will feature 200+ grassroots organizations, CBO’s, nonprofits, artists and makers, entertainers, restaurants and bars, food trucks, vendors, speeches, family fun and small businesses on site.
Locals can indulge in all things apple and all things scrapple this weekend at Reading Terminal Market. On Saturday, Oct. 12, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., visitors can walk around the famed Philly venue and try small bites from 20+ Market merchants, listen to live bluegrass music, check out seasonal kid’s crafts, and more.
Participating vendors include Butcher’s Pantry (scrapple cheesesteak), Down Home Diner (scrapple fries with apple butter), El Merkury (apple churros), Molly Malloy’s (apple pop tart), Old City Coffee (apple cinnamon latte), Flying Monkey Bakery (scrapple shortbread), Bassetts Ice Cream (caramel apple float) and plenty more.

This weekend, the annual charitable incentive from Philly PR Girl (and presenting sponsor, The O’Hara Home Team) will be in full swing. The Turkey Day Tailgate happens every year, and in 2024, the activation will be held on Sunday, Oct. 13, in the Linc parking lot from 8 a.m. to noon.
As a release notes, sponsor iHeartMedia will bring Q102’s Rach on the Radio to host an event alongside DJ Nugget. Philly Sports Trips will also be on-site to bring along special guests Hollis Thomas (Former Philadelphia Eagle) and The Philly Sports Guy. There will also be various tailgating games, photo opportunities, and raffle prizes.
Food and drink-wise, think: Cocktails, beer, Turkey Gobbler Sandwiches from Pastificio Deli, specialty dumplings from Brooklyn Dumpling Shop PHL (including a limited-time Thanksgiving dumpling to stick with the theme) and much more. All guests are also encouraged to bring a non-perishable item to donate to North Light Community Center before enjoying the day. Tickets are available via Eventbrite.

Open now for the season, this popular seasonal event transforms Franklin Square Park’s mini golf course into a Halloween-themed attraction featuring theatrical fog, strobe lights, colored and spooky lighting, and festive decorations, a release notes.
