Manayunk’s Founders Freeze Out and Chowder Crawl
This Saturday, a few unique events will be held in Manayunk with the Founders Freeze Out Run and Chowder Crawl. On Feb. 1, the Freeze Out (11 a.m. to 4 p.m.) will feature ice sculptures (some with live carving demonstrations), igloo experiences, a Winter Market with more than a dozen vendors, food trucks, Founders beer specials and giveaways, a three-mile fun run by Philadelphia Runner and much more.
The 2025 Chowder Crawl, on the other hand, will be in full swing from noon to 4 p.m. This particular event will take guests on a culinary journey through Manayunk as they sample chowder of all kinds—like chipotle chicken chowder, tom kah salmon chowder, turkey corn chowder, and traditional clam. Crawlers will be able to vote for their favorite chowder on Let’s Rallie, the official event app, a release notes. Tickets are on sale now for $18 and more information can be found online.
Rail Park’s Lunar New Year Celebration
On Feb. 1, locals can head to Rail Park to join in on their Lunar New Year celebration from 1 to 4 p.m. As a release notes, this free event will feature lion dance performances by the Philadelphia Suns and Penn Lions, a ballet performance and K-Pop workshop with Ballet SunMi, a Guzheng performance, family-friendly crafts and activities, and more.
The Park will also partner with the Asian American Pacific Islander Design Alliance to host a traditional Lunar New Year flower market on site, stocked with traditional flowers and plants—which they say symbolizes bringing good fortune, wealth and a fresh start to the year ahead.

Visitors will be able to sample all of the bites while there in Cantina’s heated outdoor tent (dress accordingly) but at 2 p.m., the tamale vendors will compete in a contest where judges will select the top tamales of the day. ‘Slay and the City: A Killer Cosmo’
A new show has opened from Without a Cue, and this one is perfect for all Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte and Miranda fans. ‘Slay and the City: A Killer Cosmo’ is a mystery spoof on the wildly popular HBO show ‘Sex and the City’ from the immersive theater company.
Written by Traci Connaughton and held at the organization’s Red Rum Theater, it will be up to audiences to solve the conundrum in this original experience. Themed drinks by Pops McCann (including signature cosmos, flirtinis and more) will be available via a cash bar during each performance, and tickets ($35 GA, $75 VIP) are available now online. VIP tickets also include a complimentary cocktail, a packet of clues and a gift.
This unique experience will run through the end of February with shows every Saturday (5 and 8 p.m.) and Sunday (3 p.m.) at Philadelphia’s “only event venue dedicated to the art of murder mystery.”
