Philly Mob Tour with Founding Footsteps
The city’s first-ever mob tour opened last weekend and will run on select dates this spring aboard Founding Footstep’s popular jitney. The BYOB occasion will cover the subject of the prohibition era, and eventually, will continue into the 50’s and beyond (including Philly during the reign of reputed mob boss Angelo Bruno.)
But for now, those who hop aboard will be able to hear stories of the city’s past with mob bosses, bootleggers, lawmen, the secrets of the illegal liquor trade, underground bars, and the rise of infamous crime families. Tickets ($55) for March dates (running Thursdays through Saturdays) can be found online.

The Secret Cinema at Glen Foerd
The Secret Cinema is returning to the gorgeous Glen Foerd estate to show a silent film classic. “He Who Gets Slapped” (1924), starring Lon Chaney and directed by Victor Sjöström (Victor Seastrom) will be shown alongside live music (in the form of Philadelphia-area organist Don Kinnier showing his skills on the venue’s recently restored 1902 Haskell pipe organ.)
Concessions will be available for purchase at a pop-up bar before and after the event, including soft pretzels, soft drinks, beer, and wine. General admission is $25, and $20 for students and seniors (note, the screening will take place on the second floor with stair access only.) The screening will kick off at 7 p.m. on March 7.
