Looking for some fun and unique things to do in Philly this weekend? We’ve got you covered.
“Psychedeli”/WoW Burger Launch Event
Chef Matt Budenstein (co-owner of Liberty Kitchen) has teamed up with artist and musician Chris Prewitt to launch WoW Burger—a juicy concept opening up at Warehouse on Watts. WoW Burger will mainly be operational during shows and events at Warehouse, or locals can catch them at different pop-ups around the city. But the brand is hosting a launch party this weekend.
On Sunday, April 20, WoW will kick off a 4/20 themed occasion dubbed “Psychedeli” presented by Aspire Higher & Transi. The event will feature live entertainment, a sandwich collab with Pizza Gutt’s Daniel Gutter, a selection of “munchies” available for purchase, and live vinyl by Wes Schwartz of Grimace Federation/Waxpaper Records. The event is for ages 21+ only (free entry starts at 3:30 p.m.) Tickets are required however for the upstairs show, with doors opening for the performance at 6 p.m. More info can be found online.

Opening Day at Franklin Square Park
Opening Day will kick off for Franklin Square on April 19, and with it, comes plenty of ways to celebrate. From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., locals can participate in the free Hop Along Trail where children can bring an Easter basket and follow the trail to collect eggs (advanced registration required), or participate in different (free) Earth Day activities spanning crafts, bird/nature activations, sorting games, recycling relays with the City of Philadelphia Office of Recycling and more.
This date also marks the start of the historic Rendell Family Fountain Show. Choreographed with lights and water, during the show, fountain jets dance to music as LED lights “glisten for visitors.” Guests visiting the park day or night can enjoy free choreographed performances beginning this Saturday. After that, daily shows start at noon and run every 30 minutes from noon to 2 p.m., and then again at 5 p.m. until the park closes.

Viva Abejos at Aqimero
Aqimero’s Viva Abejos menu additions (available until April 22) are added annually every year by Chef Richard Sandoval to raise awareness for the importance of pollinators like bees. On the menu for 2025, Philadelphians can find a duo of delightful cocktails in the form of a Honey Lavender Margarita ($19, blanco tequila, lime, honey lavender, crème de violette and Alma Finca Orange Liqueur), and the Orchard Sidecar ($19, Abasolo Whisky and Alma Finca Orange Liqueur).
Food-wise, Viva Abejas boasts Coconut Tuna Ceviche ($20, made with fresh tuna, red onion, mint, radish, cucumber, avocado, Fresno chili, and toasted coconut then finished with orange blossom honey), and a Charred Avocado Salad ($16, rainbow quinoa, pea puree, radish, serrano, Meyer lemon confit and bee pollen). Proceeds from these dishes will go to The World Bee Project.
And while at Aqimero, locals can indulge in the venue’s many other brunch, lunch, dinner and dessert options from the kitchen and the bar. Stand-outs include chipotle hummus, Wagyu steak tartare, yellow corn empanadas, birria lamb shank, Mexican chocolate French toast, a corn cake with a hibiscus mezcal glaze, churros with salted caramel ice cream and much more.
