Mind, Body, Bubbly

Mind, Body, Bubbly is officially back in 2024, and the wellness fair will be taking place Sunday, June 9, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Location 215. Back for its sixth year, MBB aims to provide a special day of self-care with some of the best of Philadelphia’s beauty and wellness communities. What visitors can expect is an event filled with bubbly drinks, brunch bites, and empowering activities, all while supporting a local nonprofit, Dawn’s Place.

Highlights span aromatherapy dough from A Little Mental, a variety of homemade cookies from Kindness Kookies, red light therapy and relaxation products from dtXfy, breast milk-inspired skincare products from Milk Made Skin, aura portraits from Inner Light Aura, affirmation candles from State of Being Co., all natural real fruit vegan sorbet from The Mango Hut, a selection of coffee items from Win Win Coffee, coloring books and art rituals from Subnormal Child, and much, much more.

Curious Histories Fest

On Saturday, June 8, locals can head to the Science History Institute for another unique rendition of its annual event, Curious Histories Fest, with the theme of “Color Your World.”

From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., activities will span arts and crafts with Fleisher’s Color Wheels, natural dyeing with the Philadelphia Guild of Handweavers, sustainable clothing and fabric painting activities with Touch Threads, and much more. Food and drink wise, visitors can expect colorful herbal tea tastings with Oma Herbal Teas, and a variety of food trucks.

In total, there will be there will be colorful artmaking, demonstrations, natural showcases, sun printing, and other fun family activities—plus the first 150 guests will receive a free serving of water ice.

The Elephant

The Elephant Restaurant & Bar has debuted a new slate of offerings after successful holiday pop-ups, and what locals can expect from the city’s first-ever espresso martini bar is several creative variations of the cocktail, other sips, food, and new decor to spruce up the space.

The main draw of the cocktail program is their focus on their variety of espresso martinis, and selections are meant to rotate as time goes on. On the opening menu however, Philadelphians can find options such as the Brûlée All Day ($15, Absolut Vanilla Vodka, espresso, crème brûlée cold foam, and Southern Tier Crème Brûlée Stout), the Rittenhouse Perk ($15, Absolut Vanilla Vodka, espresso, whipped cream, Frangelico, and lady fingers), the Banana Cream Pudding ($15, Absolut Vanilla Vodka, Irish cream, banana liqueur, espresso, and caramelized bananas), and The Italian Way ($16, espresso, limoncello, simple, and lemon).

The lounge also offers various fruit-infused, as well as classic espresso martinis on its menu, plus a kitchen serving up “newly imagined” American dishes.

Dilworth Park will be chock full of local creativity this sunny season with The Philadelphia Marketplace in full swing every Friday and Saturday, now through June 29.

This annual pop-up outside of City Hall highlights a revolving list of small businesses from Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware offering up an array of goods spanning handmade artwork, home goods, plants and more, from noon to 6 p.m. on select dates.

The list of vendors for the season so far includes Bees & Wax Soap & Candle Co. (handcrafted soap bars, candles, bath and body products), Harleysville Beekeeper (locally sourced raw honey), Sean’s Cakes By The Pound (homemade pound cakes, cookies, cupcakes and other treats) and much more. While there, Philadelphians can also take a spin in the Rothman Roller Rink as well, which opened in the spring.

Summer Soiree Picnic at Suburban Square

The second annual Summer Soiree Picnic will be in full swing at Suburban Square this Saturday, June 8 beginning at 11 a.m. The event will feature live music, free hair braiding from DryBar, samples from Stoltzfus Family Foods, Azaitisch, Lola’s Garden, and more—plus a special Aperol Spritz tasting by the back bar at Lola’s Garden.
