If you need an excuse to dine elegantly while staying safe, here’s your opportunity to do so. Walnut Street Cafe has introduced Walnut Suite Cafe where diners can rent a whole suite for themselves and everyone in their quaranteam to a private dinner experience over the course of three hours. All you have to do is order through Tock and Walnut Street will take care of the rest. The suites located in AKA come with dining areas complete with fully appointed kitchens, dining tables, flatware, glassware and everything you need to comfortably enjoy a high-quality, in-room meal. Each room has a great view of the city, and if you’re looking for some spirits, the service also has a full bar available. The best part? If you like the suite enough you can book it for the whole night. The customizable three-course seasonal tasting menus will be available for $65 per person and a $50 fee that can be directly added to the room charge if you wish to stay there the whole night. Walnut Suite Café will be available Tuesdays through Saturdays from noon to 8 p.m.

Everbody Eats Philly
According to a release, Philadelphians can get in the holiday spirit with Snacktime, The Jawn, Trap Rabbit, and Omar’s Hat as they collaborate on a special daytime performance on Christmas Eve. Everybody Eats Philly and Sharing Excess will be on site distributing free hot meals and grocery boxes to the public, as well as collecting and handing out new PPE, along with new or gently-used coats and toys to donate those in need. The public is asked to donate new PPE, as well as new or gently-used coats and toys for the event that takes place in Clark Park from noon to 4 p.m.

Meet Betsy Ross at The Betsy Ross House
Philadelphians have the chance to to meet Betsy Ross between Christmas and New Year’s Eve to hear how holidays were celebrated (or not) in her times and explore the courtyard to see fun facts about colonial celebrations. Visitors can then shop the Museum Store for unique items celebrating for a pay-as-you-wish admission. Philadelphians can also make a day/night of it by heading over to Franklin Square to enjoy Winter in Franklin Square presented by Citizens and take in the Electrical Spectacle Holiday Light Show presented by PECO, play a round of Chilly Philly Mini Golf presented by IBEW Local 98 or take a spin on the Parx Liberty Carousel.
JOYFUL Fridays on Philly Live Weekends
Visit Philadelphia and NBC10’s highly-successful virtual series Philly Live Weekends is teaming up with with REC Philly, nicethingsMUSIC and We the People Stage to highlight local talent and spread some cheer during this unprecedented holiday season. JOYFUL Fridays on Philly Live Weekends is a special virtual caroling series that can be streamed live at facebook.com/visitphilly every Friday at 5 p.m. through Jan. 1, 2021. Evil Genius Beer Pop-Up
Evil Genius might not be able to operate out of their “lab” in Fishtown right now with no indoor dining, but they have figured out a way to still give Philly a taste of what they have to offer. The brand now has two pop-up locations at the Kwik-E Beer Pop-up Shops at 702 N. 2nd Street and 1602 Spruce Street that offers new brews and even merchandise. The concept was developed to bring Evil Genius into new places in an all-new way, and to ensure that Evil Genius can continue to keep employees employed and working through the pandemic. Philadelphians can try some of their most popular concoctions including the Santa! I Know Him!: Festive Saison, Brunch So Hard Mango and Orange IPA, Purple Monkey Dishwasher Chocolate PB Porter, or sort through an assortment of Evil Genius gear while there.
“Apres-Ski” at The Good King Tavern
Take a trip to the French Alps without ever leaving Philly this weekend. Running every Thursday through Sunday, diners can head to the Bella Vista eatery to check out their own version of a Mont Blanc (Chamonix) chalet. Philadelphians will be able to indulge and enjoy all things surrounding Alpine winter culture including munching on specialty treats. Apres-Ski will be serving up raclettes, vin chaud, cheesy French hot dogs and much more. If you’re thirsty for wine, le Caveau will also be popping up as a bottle shop downstairs at the Tavern as well with wines under $20- $40 or “fancy forever” wines for special occasions. This winter-time pop-up will consist of insulated pods with infrared wall-mounted heaters, plus patio and street seating with propane heaters. Philadelphians can enjoy Apres-Ski every Thursday through Sunday with hours varying on the day.
