Fun things to safely do this weekend in Philly

Looking for some fun, unique and safe ways to spend your weekend? In the age of social distancing, Metro has you covered. A few Philly establishments have come up with inventive ways to still have fun this weekend while staying healthy.

CraftNow Virtual First Friday

Just because social distancing is still in full effect doesn’t mean that we all can’t experience the fun of a First Friday experience, just this time it will be through a virtual format. On May 1 at 6:30 p.m., Philadelphians can join in on this inaugural event where CraftNOW partnered up with The Clay Studio, The Center for Art in Wood, the Philadelphia Museum of Art and the Wharton Esherick Museum. According to the release, Virtual First Friday will be moderated by CraftNOW’s Executive Director Leila Carter and will feature different artists and curators such as Jennifer Zwilling (Curator of Artistic Programs at The Clay Studio), artist Roberto Lugo and more engaging in 10-minute conversations with question and answer sessions. This event is free to join though Zoom, and as a spirited bonus, there will even be a specialty cocktail you can make ahead of time to enjoy during the event.
