Live! – KOP Town Center’s Live Music Programming
If you miss the feeling of a live performance, King of Prussia’s Town Center can help you out on that front. According to a release, rather than cancel May’s Live! Performances, the Town Center decided to adapt the format to live steam artists on the KOP Town Center via the Facebook page to continue that same sense of togetherness — just in a way that fits this temporary “new normal.” Performances will be hosted every Friday from 6 – 8 p.m. on the KOP Town Center’s Facebook page with this Friday’s performance featuring the Amanda & The Teddy Thomas Band. As an extra special treat there will also be a performance streamed this Sunday with Tim Williams from 5 to 7 p.m.
Cotoletta’s Boozy Ice Pops
Fitler Square hotspot Cotoletta has decided to put their own spin on a refreshing summer treat. With their new boozy ice pops, Philadelphians can enjoy a spirited and refreshing dessert that comes in a variety of seasonal flavors. Choices include the Berry Vodka Lemonade (made with fresh berries, lemons and vodka), Pina Colada (made with rum, coconut, and pineapple) Mango Pineapple Margarita (made with fresh mango, pineapple and tequila), Berry Sangria (made with fresh berries, wine, vodka and tequila), Pear Peach Melon (made with fresh melons, pear and vodka), Bourbon Creamsicle (made with fresh berries, coconut milk, and bourbon) and the Oh Honey (made with strawberry, orange, hot honey and prosecco). Virtual Flag Fest
Even though social distancing is still preventing large gatherings, the Betsy Ross House is not letting that damper their Flag Day celebration plans. According to the release, virtual programming will feature Betsy Ross discussing the history of the flag and its evolution over time leading up to the Flag Resolution of 1777 and General Washington’s famous visit to her shop (11 a.m.), then Betsy talking about the various symbols that have appeared on the flag over time and their wide-ranging meanings (1 p.m.), and a talk with The Rev. Richard Allen, who founded the African Methodist Episcopal Church in Philadelphia, reflecting on what patriotism means to him as a formerly enslaved person who purchased his freedom, served during the Revolutionary War, and then devoted his life to the hard work required to assure that the blessings of freedom, justice and equality be enjoyed by all Americans (3 p.m.) Each program will run for 5 to 10 minutes and will take place this Sunday, June 14.
Devil’s Den’s Cocktail for a Cause
If you’re looking for a way to enjoy a cocktail and also simultaneously help a good cause, South Philly hotspot Devil’s Den has got you covered. The establishment is now offering their new ‘Bunker Bitch’ cocktail, which was inspired by the “cheeto-in-charge,” Donald Trump. The new cocktail, according to the release, is made with Russian Standard Vodka (an homage to the collusion accusations), Budweiser (Because, ‘Merica), Florida Orange Juice (The home of Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort, and he also tried to register to vote in Florida using an out-of-state address) and is then garnished with Tang (because Devil’s Den presume that’s what’s in the bunker that the President was “rushed to” during last week’s protests). 100% of proceeds from the new spirited drink will go to Reclaim Philadelphia, an organization committed to continuing the political revolution in the city. Bunker Bitch will be offered throughout the remainder of the month, and the establishment will also be matching 100% of the donations to Reclaim Philadelphia to support the nonprofit’s fight for racial, gender and economic justice in the City of Philadelphia.

‘A Clarion Call for Justice’
This Saturday marks an important occasion in the ongoing Black Lives Matter Movement in Philadelphia. Jeff Bradshaw and the United Brass community are calling on all brass musicians from the Tri-State area and beyond to lend their services in the fight against police brutality and to remember George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmad Arbery, and Tony McDade. All skill levels are welcome, and the event will take place June 13, from 1 -4 p.m. on the steps of the Philadelphia Art Museum.
