Chef Garces teams up with Virtua Health for video series on nutritional cooking

Iron Chef and James Beard Award-winner Jose Garces has recently launched a new series of short videos highlighting the nutritional benefits and tasty delights of superfoods.

Known internationally for his famous eateries and award-winning dishes, Garces has teamed up with Virtua Health for this project. The bite-size culinary clips dish up exactly how to cook delicious, healthy plates, as well as the nutritional benefits of eating superfoods like salmon, courtesy of Dariush Mozaffarian, M.D., Dr.P.H.

“Many people want to eat healthy foods, but need some guidance on what to select and how to prepare them,” said Garces. “Through these videos, we are serving up easy recipes that bring out the flavors of some of my favorite ingredients, like avocados and sweet potatoes.”

Superfoods are full of nutrients, while also low in calories. Common superfoods include blueberries, kale, salmon and avocados.

Throughout the video series, Garces will highlight exactly how to cook superfoods, while Mozaffarian describes the nutritional qualities of each profiled dish.

Both Garces and Mozaffarian are members of the President’s Council on Sports, Fitness & Nutrition, a federal advisory committee that promote healthy eating and physical activity for all people, regardless of background or ability.
