Geno’s Steaks continues its pledge to donate lunches to hospitals

In the age of coronavirus, there have been many accounts of people and organizations giving back to extend gratitude for those keeping us safe. Those stories certainly bring a little light to the otherwise gloomy news forecast, and it at least shows the compassionate aspect of the human spirit.

South Philly hotspot and iconic City of Brotherly Love establishment Geno’s Steaks is hopping on that ideology and already has been doing what they can for healthcare workers on the front line.

According to a release, just a short time ago, Geno Vento, owner of Geno’s Steaks, has made a pledge to donate hundreds of cheesesteaks to all of the hospitals throughout our region. To start off, the entrepreneur first began donating lunch to the healthcare heroes battling the pandemic at Temple University Hospital, which has consistently been treating the highest number of COVID-positive patients in the city.

But the delicious good deed hasn’t stopped there. In addition to Temple, he also recently donated lunch and dinner to the hardworking teams at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, Jefferson University Hospital, Einstein Medical Center, Cooper Hospital and CHOP. Over the course of the next few weeks, he has plans to continue these donations, and to reach even more hospitals throughout the region.

The donations from Geno’s joins the ranks of many other organizations stepping up to the plate to help others in this unprecedented time of need. In this period of history, hopefully, those stories of selflessness will be a silver lining that showcases the empathetic spirit of people.
