Halloween in Philadelphia just got a whole lot more magical with “The Glow” in Fairmount Park, where 5,000 Jack O’Lanterns light up the night to the delight of kids and adults alike.
According to the website, the creator of the experience is named Jack and has 20 artists working on epic pumpkin carving creations.
The trail is a third of a mile long featuring pumpkin carvings and other, much more complex Halloween installations.
Want to improve your own pumpkin carving skills? Watch live demonstrations of expert pumpkin carvers from “The Glow” as they work on new orange-colored masterpieces. Some are even from the Philadelphia area and just might make a Jack O’Lantern of a Philly celebrity, sports team or an iconic site.
Special features in “The Glow” include a “Prehistoric Park” which is made up of Jack O’Lantern dinosaurs (some standing 16 feet tall), a pumpkin pirate ship and a pumpkin graveyard.
Please note that the “The Glow” is rain or shine and tickets are sold in 30-minute intervals, with each walk through taking between 30 to 45 minutes. Oh, and parking is free!
