Getting Peachy-keen in August

August is National Peach Month, so you can say we’re going a pit crazy (get it? Peach pit?). This seasonal fruit is sweet and juicy, and it’s coloring even screams summer. You can use them in smoothies, barbeque, tacos, or even just as itself. Sweetgreen also has an amazing Peach and Goat Cheese salad this month, so get it while it’s there. Trust me, it’s delicious.)

While Georgia might be the “Peach State”, we sure like to celebrate it here too. Linvilla Orchards have their very own Peach Festival! It’s Saturday, August 6 and it begins with picking your own fruit at 8am. It’s hosted by Makin Music, who are bringing family-fun entertainment throughout the day. There will also be plenty of fun games available throughout the day, like an egg toss, a balloon relay, Olympic-inspired games and crafts as well.

The end of summer is just around the corner, so grab your hats, your fruit-picking baskets and a peach or two, and enjoy the sunshine while it lasts.
