An 11-year-old girl was injured in a double shooting Wednesday night near 52nd and Market streets in West Philadelphia, authorities said.
Officers were called just after 11:30 p.m. to 52nd Street, just south of Market, where they found a 32-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his leg, police said. He was hospitalized with nonlife-threatening injuries.
The girl was struck in her hip and taken to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, where she was in stable condition, according to authorities.
Investigators said nearly 30 shots were fired in the area and that they believe the girl was hit by a stray bullet, according to multiple media reports.
No one was arrested in the immediate aftermath of the shooting.
