A former girl’s soccer coach from Mayfair has been sentenced to 12 1/2 to 25 years for child molestation and possession of child pornography.
Vincent Mickle, 35, pleaded guilty a year ago to using social media to try to lure teenage girls into sexual relationships. Prosecutors said Mickle met the girls through MySpace, Facebook and other social media, and had contact with at least six girls – as young as 14. He asked them to send him nude photos and invited them to his home where he gave some of them marijuana and alcohol. Mickle had sex with one of the girls, a 16-year-old, in 2009.
Police began investigating when Mickle showed up to a girl’s field hockey game to make contact with one girl. She alerted school officials and police. Investigators then found the additional victims.
Mickle, who was a volunteer coach for the Lighthouse Soccer Club, also admitted to having hundreds of images of child pornography on his computer. In addition to jail time, he was ordered to serve five years probation.
