Do you have $40,000 burning a hole in your pocket? Then World Wide Stereo has a television for you.

The leading electronics retailer in Ardmore has the exclusive rights in the region to market the new Samsung 85” 4K Ultra HD TV. Only 250 of the television sets will be offered in the entire United States. The $39,995 price includes four technicians who will go to your house and install it and Samsung will sends one of their own to fine tune it.

“The new Samsung Ultra HD has four times the resolution of the other high end televisions that Samsung offers,” said founder and owner of World Wide Stereo Bob Cole. “The screen is equipped with local area dimming, which allows it to provide the best possible contrast ratio that money can buy. The blacks are black, the whites are whites, and more importantly the grays are gray.”

Jeff Miller, who works in system design at the company, said, “The 4K resolution is so fine you can see Daniel Craig’s face superimposed on the stunt actor during the infamous motorcycle scene in “Skyfall.”

Cole acknowledged that currently, there is not much 4K material to screen, but said the system converts current HD to Ultra HD. He expects there will be much more material filmed in 4K resolution in the next two years.

The sound

These new televisions also correct the problem of most television audio sounding like an answering machine. While most television sets have one small stereo unit, the Samsung 85” is entirely framed by speakers, including a sub-woofer to fill in the bass.

Even Steve Wynn likes it

According to Cole, casino magnate Steve Wynn was so excited about the Samsung 85” that he wanted to buy it off the floor of the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas this January. Wynn, who is currently bidding on the second casino license in Philadelphia, suffers from a degenerative eye disease called retinitis pigmentosa.

Wanna go big?

If screening movies is your thing, World Wide Stereo offers soundproof screening rooms for $350,000. The IMAX option costs a mere $3 million.
