In yet another highly scientific poll, GQ magazine last week ranked Philadelphia the sixth worst-dressed city in the nation, citing mullets, ironed jeans and goatees as sartorial culprits.
“I definitely disagree,” said Kevin Parker, CEO of Philadelphia Fashion Week. “We have such a great impact on the fashion scene, with designers and models going on to influence the industry in New York and L.A., and I don’t know why we don’t get the respect we deserve.”
Of course, influence on the global fashion scene hardly seems to be a consideration for the pollsters, as international runway capital Manhattan ranked even worse than Philadelphia, clocking in at No. 5.
