Two Philadelphia Police officers are shown on video stomping on the head of a detained man, and then punching him in the stomach before carrying him around like a rag doll.
The cameraman, whoposted the video on the popular viral-video sharing website LiveLeak, alleges in the comments section that the detainee had robbed a house in Kensington.
“I FILMED THIS VIDEO from the third floor bedroom window of my special makeup effects studio,” the cameraman wrote. “The guy had just robbed a house on the adjacent street (3100 block of Hurley Street in the Kensington section of North Philly). The beating happened at the corner of Allegheny Ave and Hurley St, just a half block up from the home invasion. … The whole reason I posted this video was for awareness and accountability purposes.”
During the video the cameraman says the detained man put up a fight before he started filming.
The Philadelphia Police Department was made aware of the video and was asked to respond with any additional information about the incident. Once the department issues a response it will be added to this post as soon as possible.
